Walkway Covers

Aluminum Frames
Texas-tested strength you can trust.

Designed for long-term durability, the extruded T6 aluminum frames deliver exceptional strength without the risk of rust, rot, or warping, with an anodized finish that resists fading over time.

Polycarbonate Panels
Shade that cuts heat, not natural light.

Our signature Heat-Protectant Lexan Polycarbonate roof panels block 100% of UV rays and reduce heat by up to 83%, creating a cooler, more comfortable space while still allowing natural light underneath.

Integrated Gutter System
Controlled drainage, built-in.

Rainwater is collected along the roof edge and routed through a concealed gutter channel into the downspout system. The result is a cleaner, more controlled way to manage runoff from the covered area.

Embedded Footings
Anchored strength below the surface.

Support posts are set into deep concrete footings below grade, creating a permanent installation designed for long-term structural support. The result is a clean, minimal profile with lasting anchored strength.

Questions?
We've Got Answers.

Find answers to common questions before getting started.

What makes Patio Doctor’s aluminum carports different?

Our aluminum carports are engineered as complete shade systems, not basic metal covers. They combine precision-extruded T6 aluminum, an anodized finish, high-impact polycarbonate roofing and a permanent installation in concrete footings for strong, long-lasting vehicle protection. The result is a zero-maintenance system that avoids the rust, rot, and warping common with traditional materials, without the painting, staining or recurring upkeep.

Who manufactures Patio Doctor carports?

Our carports are engineered and manufactured by Sankyo Tateyama in Takaoka, Japan. Sankyo Tateyama has been manufacturing premium aluminum building products since 1960, earning a reputation for precision engineering, clean design, and long-term durability. Patio Doctor works with KunkelWorks USA to bring these systems to Texas homes, with our team handling everything from delivery through installation.

How do polycarbonate roof panels protect my vehicle?

Our heat-protection polycarbonate roof panels block 100% of UV rays and reduce heat rays by up to 83%, helping keep your vehicle cooler while protecting the paint, dash, seats, and trim from daily exposure. The impact resistant polycarbonate panels also help shield your vehicle from hail and rain while still allowing filtered natural light through.

Can these carports handle extreme Texas weather?

Absolutely. The T6 aluminum frame, impact-resistant polycarbonate roof panels, anchoring, and concrete footings work together as an engineered system built for Texas heat, high winds, hail, and heavy rain. Wind ratings range up to 120 mph depending on model and setup.

How long do these carports last?

Our carports are built for decades of use, with a 50+ year service life possible for the aluminum structure with proper installation and normal care. The anodized aluminum frame will not rust, rot, or warp, and roof panels or individual components can be replaced if they are ever damaged. Each carport is permanently installed in concrete footings for long-term stability.

How much maintenance do these carports require?

Zero maintenance. Our aluminum systems never need painting, sealing, staining, or rust treatment to stay strong. Typical cleaning is optional, but an occasional rinse will help your carport look sharp and at its best.

What carport sizes and layouts are available?

Patio Doctor offers standard single, double, and triple-car aluminum carport systems, with model-specific dimensions for different driveways, vehicles, and coverage needs.

Available options include different roof styles, heights, widths, depths, and post layouts, including cantilevered designs that keep posts out of the way. Multiple systems can also be connected for wider or deeper coverage making it possible to cover larger residential, commercial or specialty parking areas.

Can a carport be customized to fit my property and match my home?

Absolutely. Depending on the model, your carport can be adjusted by width, depth, height, roof pitch, post placement, gutter direction, and other layout details.

Our range of frame colors and roof panel options lets each homeowner create a carport that feels right for their home and the way they use their space. For unique layouts, our team can also make custom on-site adjustments for a cleaner, more precise fit.

Who installs the carport, and how long does the installation take?

Patio Doctor handles the installation from start to finish. Since we are bonded and insured, homeowners have another layer of protection behind the work.

Our team installs most single carports in one day. Double and triple carports usually take one to two days, depending on project requirements. If permitting is required, the city’s inspection schedule can add one to two working days to the overall timeline.

Do I need a permit or HOA approval?

Permit and HOA requirements vary by city project size, placement, and neighborhood. Even when a building permit is not required, setback, easement, and structural requirements may still apply.

Patio Doctor offers permitting services when a city permit is required. This can include application preparation, site plans, construction plans, and inspection coordination. A current property survey or plot plan is usually required. If the city requires engineered plans, that can also be arranged.

For HOA approval, Patio Doctor can provide project details, plans, and supporting documents to help with the homeowner’s submission. A current property survey or plot plan may also be required.

What does Patio Doctor’s 10-year warranty cover?

Patio Doctor’s stands behind every aluminum shade system installation with our 10-year limited warranty which covers defects in materials and installation workmanship for our aluminum shade systems, subject to the written warranty terms and exclusions. Full warranty details are available in our written warranty.
